With a unique history spanning almost 300 years, the Mansion House provides a spectacular, affordable backdrop for your wedding and civil partnership celebrations. We are venue hire only, allowing you to stay in control of all elements of your big day.

For your ceremony and/or reception, you will have exclusive use of the full house - for celebrations from 2 to 100 people. We have a passion for delivering beautiful, personal ceremonies, and stunning drinks and dinner receptions. We have a full catering kitchen and excellent relationships with a wide range of local caterers, and best of all, you have the freedom to use the caterer of your choice, as well as working with any other suppliers you choose to bring your vision to life.

To allow you freedom to choose, we operate as a venue hire only, and will happily advise you of excellent local suppliers. From florists to caterers, we have built strong relationships with businesses who know the house and understand what works best.

Food and Drink
Regardless of the size of your reception, we can work alongsIde your chosen caterer to help you create your vision.
We have a full catering kitchen and have hosted everything from buffets to banquets.
As venue hire only, we do not have a catering team onsite but we have a list of recommended caterers who have worked with us many times before.
If you wish to choose a caterer from outside of this list, we are happy to accommodate this, just put us in touch with them!
We have a full alcohol licence on the premises for the serving and sale of alcohol. Drinks must be provided through a caterer or other licenced vendor. We have good relationships with several bar hire companies and would be happy to recommend them to you.
We have flexibility to host your ceremony or reception at any time you choose, and will work with even the most last minute booking to make it happen.
We have some availability for Autumn and Winter 2021 and are taking bookings for 2022, 2023 and beyond.
While we welcome dinner and drinks receptions, due to the historic nature of the building (and our grand but fragile chandeliers!) we are unable to accommodate DJs and dancing. However, we can recommend some great nearby venues that will happily host an evening party just a stone’s throw away – think of the beautiful evening photos!
Planning and Event Management
Our Events Co-ordinator will help you get everything booked in and be on hand for any advice going forward. We know some fantastic wedding planners who will help you plan every aspect, or who will just oversee the running of your day, making sure everything runs smoothly.

Socially distanced weddings and late availability
In these uncertain times planning a wedding can and has been difficult for many people.
We've been able to be ﬂexibie with our clients about deposits, refunds, changing plans, postponing and moving dates.
Because our largest room has a normal capacity of 80 seated, we can offer smaller socially distanced weddings.
We do have availability in late 2021 for rearranged weddings and can accommodate last minute bookings.
