Oral History Project

Oral History Project

A crowd of people smiling but the focus is on a lady in a purple hat who waves to the camera.

As part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund redevelopment, local historian Van Wilson undertook an oral history project in partnership with the York Oral History Society, to record the memories of people who have been associated with the house.

Although the project has now come to an end, we are still eager to hear your recollections and stories. Perhaps you have a relative who was a Lord Mayor, or maybe you worked at the Mansion House in your younger years? Whatever your connection to the House, we’d love for you to share it with us. Your stories are what help us bring the house to life and piece together its varied and unique past.

To share your memory, please contact us.
